About me

Jura Boat Tours is owned and operated by me, Robert Henry. I was brought up on Jura and then left for secondary school in Oban followed by studying engineering at College which led on to joining the RAF. During my time in the service I completed all my RYA courses to skipper level with the Royal Marines inc RYA level 1&2 Powerboat, intermediate, advanced, First Aid, VHF radio, Sea Survival and Professional Practices and Responsibilities (PPR) and all the relevant management courses like H&S advisor, Risk Assessor, Manual Handling Instructor, Managing Safely and numerous others culminating in gaining Chartered Management status.

It was always my aspiration to return to Jura and share the beauty of the Island with others. Some 12 years ago when my parents passed away I turned their house into a holiday let with the intention of using it for my wife and I when I finished my service career however, such is the popularity of Jura it is booked up until 2018! I always had a vision to purchase a boat and offer trips allowing visitors to experience the rugged landscape and wildlife from a different focal point.
